UPCOMING EVENTS

Exponential Festival, Jan 19-21

Exponential is a month-long January festival dedicated to New York City-based emerging artists working in experimental performance. The participants in this multi-artist, multi-venue festival are committed to ecstatic creativity in the face of commercialism. Exponential is driven by inclusiveness and a diversity of artists, forms, and ideas coupled with utopian resource-sharing, mentoring and the championing of risky, rigorous work in eclectic fields.

cryptochrome

written, directed, composed, and performed
by Evan Silver aka Tiresias
January 19 – 21 @ 7:30pm

cryptochrome is a freewheeling ritual meditation and live art concert on wayfinding and navigation. Named after a protein found in the biochemical pathways of birds and other animals that is believed to be responsible for the ability to navigate across the electromagnetic field, the performance invites audiences on a kaleidoscopic journey to reflect on the invisible perceptual worlds that shape lives across the animal kingdom.

Mx. Piggy Makes an OnlyFans

written and performed by Tank
January 19 – 21 @ 9:30pm

The artist formerly known as Ms. Piggy is back in the spotlight (Bushwick) after 5 years of radio silence, and like always, they have a lot to say. Chiefly about their ex, a new lover, and their mediocre attempt at an OnlyFans.

How to Get Here

We are minutes off the Queens Midtown Expressway and the Brooklyn Queens Expressway. You can also take Flushing or Metropolitan to get to Johnson. It’s Street Parking only. This area is not residential so the streets are generally clear by 6pm and on weekends. Johnson, Gardner, Randolph and Varick are usually pretty good for parking.

  • L – Jefferson Ave (4 min).
  • B60 – Johnson Ave/Morgan Ave (9 min, .4mi). Walk East on Johnson about 4 blocks
  • B57 – Flushing Ave/Wyckoff Av (4 min)
  • From the J, get off at Flushing and take the B57 (Maspeth) to Flushing Ave/Wyckoff Av
  • Cross Flushing Ave, turn right and go half a block to Gardner. Turn left and follow Gardner until you get to Johnson. Cross Johnson and turn left.
  • Canarsie-bound Shuttles – If you’re able to walk about 10min, we recommend getting off at the Morgan stop and walking down Johnson. If a 4min walk is more comfortable, add about 12-15min to your travel time because the shuttles get trapped on Wyckoff on the way to Jefferson.
  • Bedford-bound Shuttles – Jefferson stop
  • Cross Flushing Ave, turn right and go half a block to Gardner. Turn left and follow Gardner until you get to Johnson. Cross Johnson and turn left.
  • Once you’re on Johnson (nearest intersection Gardner), you should see the runway of lights lining our loading dock. If you get to the Black & Orange 555 building, you’ve gone too far.
  • Walk through the 563 gate door, up the ramp and through the building door. If you need the elevator, you can take it up to Floor 2, but we ask that most people take the stairs on the right up to the second floor. Follow signs to We Are Here.
